Mohammed Kudus to Become Most Expensive Ghanaian Footballer in £55m Tottenham Move

Ghana Players

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with West Ham United to sign Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus in a deal worth £55 million, making him the most expensive Ghanaian player in football history.

The 24-year-old forward is set to undergo a medical on Thursday ahead of signing a six-year contract with Spurs. The transfer surpasses the previous Ghanaian record set by Thomas Partey’s £50m move to Arsenal in 2020.

Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax just last summer and impressed with his flair, dribbling, and attacking versatility, despite an inconsistent 2024–25 campaign. Tottenham’s new manager, Thomas Frank, sees him as a key addition to a front line that includes Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson.

The deal is a fixed fee with no add-ons, and West Ham opted to accept the offer to boost their financial position under FFP regulations.

Once finalized, the move will mark the first direct transfer between Spurs and West Ham since 2011. Kudus is expected to be unveiled later this week as he begins the next chapter of his career in North London.
