Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong has received his first call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
The 21-year-old centre-back joined French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice in July 2025 from Swedish club IFK Norrköping. Since arriving in France, he has quickly established himself as a key player, featuring in five league matches so far this season, scoring once and picking up a single yellow card in 449 minutes of action.
Oppong has also gained valuable experience in Europe, making two appearances in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers for Nice. His strong performances at both domestic and continental level have earned him recognition as one of Ghana’s brightest young defensive talents.
This impressive start to life in Ligue 1 has now been rewarded with a maiden call-up to the national team, where he will look to make his mark on the international stage.
