Benjamin Tetteh has started the 2025/26 Slovenian PrvaLiga season in emphatic fashion. The Ghanaian forward looks like a man reborn — sharper, more confident, and hungrier than ever. After a career marked by ups and downs, he is once again proving why teams value a clinical striker in the final third.
Tetteh’s career has taken him on a tour of Europe. He began in Belgium with Standard Liège before moving on to the Czech Republic with Sparta Prague, where he also spent time on loan. From there, he tested himself in Turkey with Yeni Malatyaspor, in England with Hull City, and most recently in France with FC Metz. Each chapter came with challenges, but those experiences have helped shape the striker he is today.
In September 2024, Tetteh joined NK Maribor on loan from FC Metz — a move designed to give him valuable minutes and a chance to rebuild his confidence. He made the most of it, scoring 11 goals in 19 league appearances and quickly establishing himself as a fan favourite.
His performances were too good to ignore. Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Maribor moved swiftly to secure his services permanently, handing him a two-year contract.
That decision is already paying off. Tetteh’s recent brace in a 3-2 victory over NK Aluminij highlighted his sharpness and poacher’s instinct. But it isn’t just about one performance — the 27-year-old has been consistently dangerous throughout the campaign.
Some of his standout moments so far include:
- A brace against NK Bravo in a thrilling 3-3 draw, showcasing his composure under pressure.
- A goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Radomlje, proving he can create as well as finish.
- A towering header against Mura in a 2-0 victory, underlining his aerial threat.
At 1.93m tall, Tetteh brings physical presence, but his recent form shows he’s more than just a target man. His movement, link-up play, and cool finishing are making him one of the most dangerous forwards in Slovenia right now.
For Maribor, he has become the focal point of their attack. For Tetteh, Slovenia has offered the perfect stage to remind the footballing world of his quality.
After years of searching for stability, Benjamin Tetteh looks settled, confident, and ready to lead Maribor’s charge both domestically and, potentially, in Europe.
