Ransford‑Yeboah Königsdörffer to Stay at Hamburg After Failing Medical at OGC Nice

Hamburger SV winger Ransford‑Yeboah Königsdörffer will remain in Germany after his proposed move to French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice fell through due to a failed medical. The deal, reportedly worth €6 million, has officially been called off.

The transfer was initially on track, with Königsdörffer having agreed personal terms with OGC Nice. Both clubs had settled on a transfer fee of around €6 million, which could have risen to €7 million with add-ons.

However, the move hit a roadblock during his medical examination in Nice. Although a second round of tests was conducted, the club remained unsatisfied with the results and opted to withdraw from the deal.

With the medical concerns unresolved, OGC Nice officially pulled out of the transfer. Königsdörffer will not be registered with the French club, who are preparing for the upcoming UEFA Champions League qualification campaign.

Following the collapse of the move, both Königsdörffer and Hamburger SV have confirmed that he will stay with the club for the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. The Ghanaian international will resume pre-season training with HSV as they gear up for their return to top-flight football.

Königsdörffer was instrumental in Hamburg’s promotion push last season, scoring 14 goals in 32 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga — the most prolific campaign of his career so far.

He remains under contract with HSV until June 2026, and the failed transfer may prompt the club’s management to reconsider their long-term plans for the 23-year-old winger following renewed interest from top European clubs.
